What is Balayage?
The word balayage means 'to sweep' in French. Highlights can be applied to the hair freehand, using vertical strokes, just as if we were painting colour onto the hair. These natural highlights are usually a few shades lighter than your hair colour so we can effortlessly transition the colour from root to tip.
What is Ombré?
The word ombré comes from the French term for ‘shadow’. This look can be subtle or bold and use natural or fashion colours. For a more subtle look ask for sombré, which has a less harsh transition. The ombré hair colour technique gives you a more defined ‘step’ in colour which is usually darker at the roots becoming lighter towards the ends.
